Personal Stress Assessment
A journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step. - Chinese
proverb
You are to begin this course by doing a self assessment of
what causes you stress or emotional displeasure. All responses to
this assessment are confidential and will not be shared with anyone.
I may at some point calculate mean responses for all students, but data
will only be reported in aggregate form. Please respond honestly
to all items.
Thinking about your current school, work and life demands,
how strongly do you agree or disagree with the following statements?
Read each statement carefully, then in a separate file with items numbered
1 - 33 list the number that best describes your situation.
When completed, send your responses to me on as a personal
message on the conferencng system.

In your e-mail, also respond to the following questions:
After completing the above survey what if anything have you learned about
how you deal with stressors in your life? What are your strengths?
Which areas are most in need of improvement? These questions can
be combined with the optional process/assessment outlined on page 24 of
your book. Please discuss this in a minimum of two paragraphs.
In addition to the assessment
on this page, I would also like you to complete the Self-Assessment
of Physical Symptoms on page 60 of your text. Please send them
as a personal message on the conferencing system.
